Food technology

 

This programme intends to meet the technological and research needs of the food industry by combining food engineering, process improvement and new control and processing technologies. The main research lines include the modelling of food processing with heat and mass transfer operations, the simulation and control of processes, the improvement of technologies traditionally used to increase the quality, safety and sensory attributes of food, consumer attitudes and perceptions and process efficiency. It also assesses the implementation of new technologies that have not been traditionally used for food processing, control and preservation.
