CAMPYBIO: Understanding host-pathogen interactions of Campylobacter infection in broilers in order to design targeted control strategies in poultry production

Starting date: 01/01/2019 End date: 31/12/2021

Financing entities:

This proposal will deliver a comprehensive, readily-usable and industryrelevant body of data, which will serve as a blueprint for the development and implementation of control and prevention strategies that will mitigate the ongoing challenge of Campylobacter contamination in chicken meat. This will allow growing healthier, more productive chickens and a more competitive poultry sector producing safer poultry products to consumers.

In the mid-term the objective will be reducing the Campylobacter prevalence in broilers so that fewer EU citizens will be infected with this major zoonotic pathogen.
