SHOWMAP is designed for drawing chromosomes or linkage groups with various format options. It is highly configurable and easy to use, which allows maps to be drawn quickly.From text files that can be easily generated with current text editors or spreadsheets, 'postscript' files suitable for printing in any 'postscript' printer are obtained or they can also be converted into standard graphics files.
FITMAPS is a very similar programme to SHOWMAP with which you can compare data from two linkage groups and connect their common markers. It is useful for comparison of maps or for showing details from a specific region of a chromosome or linkage group
Both programmes are written in Python, a free language package that can be obtained on the Internet. |
